Looks like I’ll be attending the Atlanta Unix Users Group meeting
tonight. It happens about 400 yards from this office, so it works out
well. The subject tonight is “Open Source Databases”, talking about
(and hopefully comparing and contrasting) MySQL, PostgresSQL and SapDB
(don’t know what that one is.) This subject does in fact matter to me,
which is always good for a user group meeting. My friend Rob and I get
to be spazzes with our new IR keyboards, taking notes in the meeting.

As I was typing the BlogMax date for today, I realized it is
030303. That’s kind of interesting for number geeks. Last one till,
um, next year in April.

My CRM newsfilter is officially released – the information and
download page is open
for business
. I’m hoping to get a little bit of feedback from
it. I’m finding it a useful tool and surely others will as
well. Without a whole lot of training, I get some eerily accurate
results on classifying these articles.

Overall, my CRM114 newsreader had almost no issues with the upgraded
binary. He seemed to have changed a few of the commands, and the only
one that affected me was that “#include ” stopped being the include
command. It took me a while to figure out why my configuration file
stopped being imported, but I finally did. It all seems to work pretty
well, so I’ll make my changes, prepare the tar file and ftp it up.
