Intertrust and Ebooks

As I pulled up my aggregator and saw this article from TeleRead I had a heart palpitation. Just seeing that Intertrust goth pumpkin logo gives me delayed posttraumatic stress syndrome. This article is about DRM and ebooks. At one point, I was one of the 12 or so people that was publishing at Intertrust. We delivered a great system for distributing and selling locked books, and once they got it, Intertrust had no idea what to do with it. The irony that their patent portfolio gets them back in that arena is not lost on me. They were there three years ago, and if they had any acumen whatsoever they could be leading the pack. Que sera.
