Here’s an interesting article a coworker just IM’d me – an overview of open source SCM (Source Control Management) systems. As somone slightly involved with the Subversion project, I have a horse in this race. I had never heard of GNU Arch before today, but it also sounds quite interesting. From what my coworker says, there is some effort underway to meet in the middle or build some kind of compatability between the two projects. All interesting stuff. As good a workhorse as it has been for so long, I’m thinking that we are nearing the time to retire CVS as the ubiquitous SCM method.
