Here’s an update on the stuff packages charity drive. Since I made the offer Saturday, 6 people have taken me up on it. That’s an additional $150 in straight donations I will make to the Red Cross, plus another $150 in the match. If you’ve been thinking of buying one of these things, now would be the time to do it. You get the same stuff you always would, but you also get a little warm feeling in the pit of your stomach that says “I helped a little by doing something I wanted to anyway.” Thanks everyone.

In a similar effort, many folks at CDBaby are donating their CD sales proceeds to the Red Cross. See http://cdbaby.com/group/redcross for more information and much great music that doesn’t usually fall under the RIAA umbrella. (Full disclosure: my wife and her singing partner are part of this and donating the proceeds from the sales of their “Duelin’ Sopranos” French and Christmas CDs.)
