Evil Genius Chronicles Podcast for May 2, 2013 – “New Podcasts I’m Digging”

Here is the direct MP3 download for the Evil Genius Chronicles podcast, May 2 2013. I talk about how I have realized I am an idiot, about using Auphonic.com in my podcasting workflow, getting an unexpected discount that I’m not sure how to take, I run down some podcasts I’m enjoying lately, and talk about how I just don’t much like the one episode of the Maron TV show I saw.

  1. Georg, I really enjoy using Auphonic. Once I figured out as the last step I could have it FTP directly from your server to the destination, rather than requiring a local download followed by a remote upload, that sealed it as a phenomenal tool.

I have two feature requests that I have thought of while using it.

    1) I would like the list of files to assemble to be more flexible. The intro -> main file -> outro paradigm works for this podcast, but in other situations it might be 5 files. Opening theme -> intro voiceover -> interview -> outro voiceover -> closing theme is highly possible. Of course I can always edit the middle files into one, but not having to do that is what makes Auphonic so sweet now with just putting the three together.

    2) I would like to have a configurable cross fade duration for these file transitions. Right now my intro and outro files are music that I faded in and out before uploading, but it would be great to say I wanted a 10 second cross-fade at assembly time.

Again, I love the tool and love how fast features are being added.
