I’m trying another open source Java program on my OS X box, this one a personal finance Quicken clone called JGnash. Since my bank provides statements in Quicken QIF format and JGnash imports that, I was able to get 2+ months of transactions in there in the first few minutes of using it. I used to use Quicken and really liked it but the data entry wore me out. I like the thought of getting the value of it without ever having to do manual data entry. Nice, huh? I’m going to give a shake down by trying to reconcile the most recent bank statement. We’ll see how that goes.
