Daniel Pearl Day

Today is Daniel Pearl Day, which celebrates the life of the slain reporter and musician. I saw Paul Melancon posting about a show in Atlanta tomorrow, which led me to this, a very long list of events happening in his honor. I bought an Ottoman Empire CD not that long ago, an Atlanta band that I liked in the early nineties from some of the same folks that were in the Coolies. I was surprised when I looked at the credits to see the Daniel played violin in that band at the same time he was stationed in Atlanta working for the Wall Street Journal. If you get a chance to attend one of these events, please do. Many happen today, but there are some for tomorrow and Sunday as well. There is also a page with more information about the Daniel Pearl Foundation.
