Here’s a great way to not get my vote: run a presidential campaign and hire a referer spam company to put bogus links on my page. Fresh out of my access_log comes this:
172.144.61.107 - - [18/Feb/2004:17:34:22 -0600] "HEAD /cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "http://blog.johnkerry.com" "StarProse Referrer Advertising System 2004"
It’s not like this is more important than stances on the issues, but this is seriously stupid bullshit. If I were walking into the voting booth today and it was a coin toss between voting for Kerry and Edwards, this would be the decision maker. I hate crap like this, and I don’t like to see it coming from the campaign of someone I might be voting for.
Now that Dean is out of the race, I am deciding between Kerry and Edwards and I have to say I go with Edwards. I like that he is not pandering to the center, but saying that Democrats must do what they are good at and known for: taking care of folks at home. I like that he talks about strengthening America by strengthening the weakest amongst us. I like that he is Southern, a good speaker, not grossly rich, not running in the same circles as GW Bush at Yale, and someone who I think has enough backbone to stand up and fight. I sure hope he isn’t planning on referer spamming anyone.
