Gaim V. Trillian

Now that I’m spending more time on Linux workstations than Windows (and what a lovely feeling that is!) I’m predominantly using Gaim as my instant messaging client. From a stray comment to a friend, I found out that they also have a Windows client based on the same code! I never knew that until this morning. I have to say that I’ve been using Trillian for a while and after the first heady rush of being able to do multiple IM protocols simultaneously it has been all downhill from there. It crashes a lot, it does random funky weird stuff, it nags you about registration, etc. On the page Gaim claims to work with Mac OS X although I don’t see a package. I wonder if you have to build it yourself? I believe that this program has become my chat program of choice across all platforms.
