Here is the Bittorrent link and direct MP3 download for the EGC clambake for January 16, 2005.

In this episode, I talk more about why I love living in Conway SC; I talk about the new EGC stuff offer and why I am only offering the stuff as a package; I reiterate my love of the Gentle Readers; I talk about some of the feedback to my criticism of Mike Vizard and talk more about business models; I play a Gentle Readers song; I talk about burnout of the creative types down the long tail with the Gentle Readers and Jason Loveall as examples; I talk about Magnatune Records; I play two songs by Rocket City Riot; I urge people to support financially the bands that matter to you.

The low tonight in Chicago is supposed to be -2. I just can’t bear to listen to the Chronicles knowing that you’ll be going on about how great Conway is. Rest assured, that I’m giving you the old skunk eye tonight . . .

    🙂

  2. I have already ponied up my ducats. I’m gonna wear it loud and proud, baby. I take pride in being the first customer. I hope it isn’t my only claim to fame in life, but at this point I have to take what I can get.

  3. The t-shirts look cool. I might actually pony up some cash for one. The Gentle Readers are pretty cool. Another great podcast, really getting a kick out of them as well.

    Dave,

Either it’s a really good thing, or a really bad thing, but your podcasts are one of the reasons I’ve started podcasting. 🙂

Just as an aside, it’s been rocketing up to 40degC here in Adelaide, Australia.. hurum, that’s around 104F. Nice ‘n toasty warm..

Vizard, like several other prominent people, is most assuredly missing the point. Glad to hear somebody talking back to the naysayers. Thanks for being a pioneer.

as a graphic designer its looks good, nice to have some graphic in the album art area on iTunes. if i could change one thing it would be to have the text flow with the cape instead of staight across.

  7. Ken Kennedy says:

Hey dude! I’ll definitely be buying a package….still deciding on whether or not to use PayPal (nothing against ’em; they refuse to validate my NetBank account, though, so it always goes on my charge card). If not, I’ll email for address to send check.

WRT Vizard, I second caleb above. He has very much Missed The Point Of All This. Probably my least favorite Gillmor Gang “semi-regular” (though he seems to be more and more regular now, and Jon Udell less and less. Bummer, since Udell is my FAVORITE regular, and is the only one who’s really technical.) Anyway, Vizard makes me laugh about half the time, and really annoyed the other half, so it works out, I suppose. BTW…did you listen to the Jan. 14th GG with Adam Bosworth? Some good stuff!

    Later!

  8. Chi-town junkie says:

I’ve been a semi-regular listener and I keep hearing the “Pitch” for how great it is to live there. Since you are such a great spokesman maybe Conway and Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce could throw a bone your way during each “tribute”. A little extra to keep the lights on???

Keep up the Quality work you’re doing!

The T-shirts look great! Any plans on offering any XXL or XXXL for those of us built like the comic book guy on the Simpsons?

“I’m in shape! Round IS a shape!”
