What a Riot

Oddly enough, I don’t find this hairdryer shaped like a pistol nearly as much of a hoot as some seem to. Maybe it’s bigger fun for those who haven’t had loved ones actually shoot themselves in real life. Me personally, it made me want to puke every one of the multiple times it showed up in my aggregator.

Whee kids, suicide imagery is cool! Nihilism is awesome!

Having cleaned up after a fourteen year-old boy’s pistol suicide, I find I must agree with you on this. I wonder how many combat veterans and cops would agree as well? Probably most of them.

  2. Just to play devil’s advocate, I remember a somewhat somber teenager that wrote suicide poetry. Not everyone is in the same place or has had the same experiences. One man’s scarification is the picking of scabs to another. Give them a break, it is a neat hairdryer. You going to go back and get pissed about all of the Steve Martin arrow-through-the-head routines? I recall a guy who told me just how AWESOME the movie “Harold and Maude” was and all but physically forced me to watch it with him. Remember him?

At first, I thought it was an early April Fool joke, but I guess it’s legit.

Actually, I’ve gotta admire this guy; he’s had his ideas out there for 5 or 6 months, and finally got backing, without his ides getting co-opted. It’ll never replace the iPod, but if there’s a Yosemite Sam version of this, I’ll probably pony up.
