Clambake Episode for August 13, 2005

Here is the Bittorrent link and direct MP3 download for the EGC clambake for August 13, 2005.

I talk about life in Conway SC, about not getting enough exercise and being too fat; I play a song from the Butthole Surfers; I talk about how doing informal interviews helps my formal ones; we are approaching the one year anniversary of this show; I do my impression of Mike Vizard; I play an excerpt from JD Lassica’s interview with Halley Suitt; I play a song by Casper and the Cookies; I still need photos of your faces; goodbye.

I screwed up the impression of Mike Vizard – that second “what was the point of the whole exercise” is supposed to be “where is the business model in that?”

  1. Dave,

I don’t think the enclosure was inserted on this episode. Well, at least my iPodderX is not showing one…

    Love the show!

    Take care,
    Neil

  2. That Butthole Surfers song was great! I have often wondered if the name is derived from the Insect Surfers which were first.

  3. Hey Dave. You may have already tracked all this down, but Casper and the Cookies are a project of Jason NeSmith. He used to be in Orange Hat, which is an Atlanta psychedelic band that’s been around since before my Radiant City days (and features David Henderson, whose side project Pizzaland I play with, on the rare occasions it does anything live). He also played with Kenny Howes when Kenny was still in town He’s based out of Athens now and what started out as just a simple cassette side project he did has turned into a hip nearly Elephant 6 thing. He’s done a lot of stuff with Of Montreal lately and I know that Casper and the Cookies went to Japan a few months ago as well.

Just a slice of Atlanta musical incest for you.
