Bore of the Worlds

While in Raleigh, we watched War of the Worlds on TV. Set aside the fact that the story made no particular sense or that it was yet another Spielbergian opus of a family in jeopardy. I would have found it impossible to believe that something with so much mayhem and so many explosions could be so completely and thoroughly boring. Wow.

  1. Exactly … That was one of 6 movies I got to plow through on the 777 flights to and from Japan last October, and man was it dull. I mean, it’s a Tom Cruise film so I wasn’t exactly expecting smart writing, but I figured it would at least be mindlessly entertaining in a Mission Impossible kind of way. Not. Just pure crap. Jumped the couch indeed.

In related news, “The Aristocrats” and “Me and You and Everyone We Know” are both fantastic films, although both very much adult (obscene — in different ways).

  2. You obviously don’t now a thing about film or how to watch and understand them. I’ll send you some funnies.
Although a little complex, you just may understand them.

  3. I want to see the Aristocrats as well. We wanted to see it, but of course it never hit theaters around here.

“Drew Banacho”, thanks for your input but you really don’t need to post under a psuedonym Mrs. Spielberg. We all understand.

  4. Just look at these exquisite clothes! See how fine the material is! Only the most intelligent people can see them. Perfect for an evening out at the cinema.
