I’m sitting in an Apple store, waiting for my appointment at the Genius Bar (I’m hoping that it is a Subgenius Bar but one takes what one can get.) With any luck, they’ll be able to replace my missing left shift key. I have retrained myself to hit the little rubber button with my left pinky, but I’ve grown weary of having to. I do think Apple stores are brilliantly effective at having a space engineered to make you feel welcome and willing to turn your pockets inside out in order to give them as much money as possible. On the one hand, I hate to work so hard to exercise my self-control. On the other hand, my Apple stock is up 400% from when I bought it.
