Three Word Review of the Watchmen Movie

I just saw the Watchmen tonight. I’ll be taking it in and writing about it more later. Whatever my expectations were of the best case scenario for pulling off this adaptation, it was waaay better than even that. Suffice it to say, here is my initial review of it:

Oh.

My.

God.

  1. Glad to hear you liked it! It’s interesting; fans of the graphic novel who’ve seen it seem to be coming down on both sides. I know people who liked it a LOT, and people who were really, really disappointed. And I’m sure the reasoning on both sides will be passionate and well thought out.

I love this stuff! It’s even better than arguing whether or not “A New Hope” or “The Empire Strikes Back” was the better episode of Star Wars.

  2. Glad to hear it. Now that the crowds (should) have died down a bit, we’ll be seeing it at the drive-in this weekend. Looking forward to it!

  3. I watched yesterday.

Hmm, I think it’s a exactly copy of the comics. It’s a good movie, but I think it could be better if they adapted the comics to the movies. Doing a frame by frame copy doesn’t seems to be the way to go. It worked in 300, but I have mixed feelings in Watchmen.

I read the original comic in 1988. Whow, 20 years ago!
