Per your comment about getting rid of your CDs… I have felt the same thing and over the years have purged many a compact disc…however Ih ave started playing them in the car every once and a while and have enjoyed the rediscovery of music in at format…
also if you get rid of major label sold millions of copied stuff that’s no big deal.. but trust me when I say hold on to all that indie, small run – punk, indie rock, and local stuff… who knows when and if anyone will ever see those albums again.

That’s pretty much the way I treat it. I’m way more likely to keep some self-published hand created CDR from a band than some ordinary everyday thing. Also, some of these are signed and I keep all those. The other 85% though, that’s on the chopping block.
