Holy crap, it is working. This whole POSSE thing might really be feasible.

The Google+ part seems to be working. If Twitter and Facebook both do, I’ll be shocked but in a good way.

Tonight, after work hours I’ll make the blog post detailing what I’m doing, why and all the fiddly bits to make it work. The ultimate goal is to control your online life, instead of giving all your mojo to social networking sites.

  6. Justin Diehl says:

I dig it. Looking forward to the follow up post.

  7. Dave Slusher says:

  9. Dave Slusher says:

It happens in periodic bursts, but you can go to the post on my blog I linked and see what has happened and been pushed back. Brid.gy is doing that part.

  10. Dave Slusher says:

@xpollen8 This is turning out better than I expected. Thanks for the reply!

    Fiddly bits are cool

  12. dave says:

Just for fun, let me put a comment straight into here from the blog to see how that looks. This is working freakishly well so far!

  13. Neil Forker says:

Dave—Are you using a plugin for this? If so, which one?

  14. Hugh Hubble says:

I am willing to comply. Cheers!

  15. Justin Diehl says:

So question, would the plug-ins you’re using track if I shared the post? Or just linked to it directly?

  16. Dave Slusher says:

I believe brid.gy is looking at posts in my account and then pushing Web mentions to any site that accepts them. If you were also using brid.gy then it *might* work. Still figuring out ins and outs of this system.

  17. dave says:

Neil Forker aka @noforker: The short answer is yes, and there will be a big blog post hopefully tonight that explains the whole thing.

  18. Dave Slusher says:

@rsharvey @xpollen8 Thanks guys, those also pushed back. I can’t believe how well this is all working!

  19. Dave Slusher says:

Robynn McCarthy I think Swoopy is winning this round.

  20. Looking forward to finding out how this works!

It is amazing how much more action the test post gets vs the actual substantive post about the real system. I appreciate all the likes and comments everyone. If you are curious about the real system and the crappy Facebook algorithm didn’t show it to you, just check out my profile. It’s there, it’s real.
