Band of the Day! This is the friend of mine that I alluded to a few days ago. I was lucky enough to see him in Portland last week, my rock and roll buddy Jonny X, leader of the band Jonny X and the Groadies. I like his band, which is kind of techno-midi-metal in the Ministry mold. I once saw this band play a basement gig at which I was at least 12 years older than the next oldest person. One of my early acts in building the WREK automation system was to insert the Groadies song "Gravedigger" into the system. In fact, during their last (and only) nationwide tour, we had a house full of Groadies spending the night. You can get one of their songs at their download page. larly liked since it fits with my fascination with Lucha Libre is the episode entitled Leave the Mask On. Segment three is a story recorded in Mexico with some Luchadores, including one who was unmasked and thus could never wrestle again. I find this stuff very moving.
