Taking a break after the morning poster session and before going back to meet up with the crew at 4:30 PST. It seemed to me that it went well. She had lots of folks come and talk to her. At one point, I ended up answering questions about her presentation - some guy thought that I was the "D. Slusher" of the poster. In a small world story I ran into Richard Lovett, who was on my "Luddite SF" panel at Orycon, at the refreshment table. He's covering it as a science journalist. Neat, huh?

I was thinking about going to Borderlands books this afternoon, but I only had 3 hours by the time we were done with lunch and still needed to go back to the hotel for a coat and umbrella. Not knowing how long it would take round trip and how long I'd want to spend down there, I opted to stay around this part of town. I think now I'll do the Cartoon Art museum tomorrow, followed by a trip down Mission.

I ended up shopping forever at Rasputin Music, buying 10 CDs out of the sales bin (5 for $10, so for slightly more than the price of one new CD at a mall store I got an armload of music including two Atlanta bands, Ottoman Empire and Red Level Eleven. One sad bit of trivia about Ottoman Empire - although two of the guys from legendary Atlanta band The Coolies are in the group (including the guy who plays guitar for Paul Melancon lately, Rob Gal) - the violinist was Daniel Pearl, the report for the Wall Street Journal who was killed in Pakistan last year. Some of these small world stories really suck, and that it is the worst one I know.
