Here's a weird site: one devoted to the question "do Asians really all look the same?" I took the test and scored 7 out of 18, one better than statistics say a chimp should be able to do by sheer guessing. What was odd that while taking it I was sure I was doing much better than that. I should put more in. I'm going to try to shoot for a consistent 10-20 books a day, maybe more on the weekends. I'll divide it up between the newish stuff that I really just want gone and the older books that I'm more interested in. This is mostly paperbacks in good shape from the 50's through the 70's. I've been slowly accumulating them at garage sales and estate sales and library sales for a decade so it is nice to finally have a venue in which to sell them. The single best find was finding about 50 great paperbacks on a shelf in the basement of the LSU library with a sign that said plaintively "Please take me!" I did. I considered briefly leaving some for some other lucky bastard but then I figured it was more likely that someone would get tired of them and pitch them, so I viewed it less like being greedy and more like a rescue. These are the rationalizations that get us through the days.
