RSS Kills April Fool's Day
I hate April Fool's day. It is to humor what New Year's Eve is to drinking - the day a lot of people who aren't very good at it feel empowered to give it a spin. With either, vomiting is a probable outcome somewhere.
What really lets the air out of these jokes is when you are reading things in your RSS aggregator and every other item in there is some REALLY WACKY THING. Apple is replacing iChat with Adium, Rogue Amoeba is dropping support for Mac products, Tech Crunch reports some nonsensical startup announcement, ad nauseum. Sorry guys, but for the syndicated world you've really lost the element of surprise.
Update: The parade of sub-humorous jokes continues. Because it amuses me, I will keep a tally of them as I see them. In fact, the tallying has amused me more than the jokes. Just call me Dr. Buzzkill. Buuuwaaahaaaahaaa!
